I decided to take up learning a tech skill from seeing the direction the world is going in. After working for the Greater London Authority I wanted to take on a new challenge and learn something where I could be creative, technical and work remotely at the same time. UX/UI design became the perfect option for me and I was able to dedicate time and effort to learning to skill.

Fun fact: I view myself as an anti-hero a lot, not quite good but not bad either - I have my reasons for what I do. 🤔
What's your career story so far?
I’ve been working for my company for nearly 2 years now - I first graduated the Love Circular course 2020, worked freelance for a year and then got a job with W12 studios as a Product Designer in May 2021 and have continued learning and developing up till the present!
What's your proudest achievement as a designer?
My proudest achievement as a designer is currently working on a new streaming platform project from the ground up - been such a cool and insightful experience.
What's a typical day in your life?
A typical day in the life for me will start off at 5am, I’ll pray and read for 1 hour, then go to the gym for an hour and get back home get ready, eat breakfast and then either set up my laptop from home/remotely or go into the studio - I’ll look through the list of tasks I have for that day, take an hours lunch at 1, and make sure I’m listening to a podcast or music whilst working. I aim to complete all my tasks the same day given to me or if not I complete a large chunk so that the next day I have room for more work.
How's your desk setup looking?
I really only have my laptop, notebook and a sketchbook on my desk setup - the sketchbook is used to time-block my day and allocate tasks (gym, lunch, meetings) to specific hours of the day.
How do you stay inspired?
I stay inspired by always making sure I’m taking in every moment around me, looking at the small details of things and taking everyday as it comes - inspo tends to be a spark, not something that can be forced. I tend to go to Dribbble or Pintrest when it’s for UI and if it’s UX I tend to use Netflix, Amazon prime or other streaming services as that’s currently the field of products I’ve been working on for the past 2 years.
Travel is a big part of inspo
What advice would you give yourself if you were to start over again?
Go harder in the job hunt as soon as you graduated - being in an environment with other designers helps mould you so much better and quicker.
What's your favourite album/playlist at the moment?
Favourite playlist at the moment is my own called Holy Flow filled with Christian rap or Ezra collective and their jazz instrumentals - tired of hearing about my people in a negative light!
